  1. Waihe'e Ridge Trail

You know our beautiful, quintessential ridge mountains? Well if you didn’t know already, this is the Maui hike that gets you on the crest of one. Get ready for a moderate-challenging jaunt through farmland, through jungle and up onto the (generally) misty mountaintop. This hike clocks in at about 2.5 miles each way, treating you to sweet views of the coast and valleys as you trek through this majestic, ever-changing terrain. Careful! It can be slippery with mud on the way down.

  2. 13 Crossings

Ready for a hike that really keeps you on your toes? This wild ride through the rainforest clocks in at around 3.5 miles round trip. With 13 stream crossings and waterfall views to boot, it's the ultimate Maui adventure. We love it in September, when guava season provides sweet snacks along the way!

  3. ‘Iao Valley State Park

Looking for a quick and easy family stroll on sacred ground? ‘Iao Valley's got you covered with short trails ranging from 0.6 to 0.8 miles round trip (and some secret trails that we can’t be caught disclosing, but ask a local if they’ll take you!)! Whichever route you take, say hi to the iconic ‘Iao Needle and soak in the lush greenery—it's like stepping into a postcard. Bring your Hawai’i ID for free parking and entry!

  4. Wailuku Heights Trail

If you’re up for a challenge and some killer views of Wailuku and beyond, this is for you. This hike's about 3 miles round trip, taking you through native forest and volcanic terrain for panoramas that'll make you feel on top of the world.

  5. Waihe’e Coastal Dunes and Wetlands Refuge

This hidden gem offers a maze of trails winding through coastal dunes, wetlands, and Hawaiian flora. It's perfect for a leisurely stroll or birdwatching adventure, with beach access and killer views of the coastline. And hey, it's about 2 miles round trip, so it's just the right length for an afternoon wander!
