Best Coffee Shops to Work From on Maui (Because Most of Them Don’t Cut It)
No wifi. No outlets. Nowhere to sit. We’ve been there. Here’s the actual list of spots that work — by area.
Working remotely from Maui sounds like a dream — and it can be, if you know where to go. The reality is that a lot of coffee shops here are small, packed, wifi-free, or designed for a quick grab-and-go. This list is the one we wish we had: actual spots with wifi, real seating, and drinks worth staying for, organized by where you are on the island.
South Maui (Kīhei & Wailea)
📶 Wifi
Garden setting
Da Green Coffee Bar
📍 Kīhei
Tucked into a garden in Kīhei, which makes it genuinely pretty to work from. Fast wifi, solid coffee, and it never gets too crowded. A reliable South Maui default.
📶 Wifi
Ocean view
The Front Room
📍 Kīhei
A local favorite with an ocean view and a genuinely comfortable atmosphere. Good coffee, good wifi, and a space that doesn’t feel rushed. One of the better all-day options in South Maui.

Splurge
The Pantry at the Four Seasons
📍 Four Seasons Resort Maui, Wailea
Yes, it’s the Four Seasons. Yes, your latte costs what it costs. But the wifi is fast, the seating is gorgeous, the views are unreal, and nobody is rushing you. Think of the drink prices as your coworking fee — and for a day of focused work with that backdrop, it’s honestly worth it. Treat yourself on a deadline day.
📶 Wifi
Vida Coffee
📍 Kīhei
Bright, clean, good energy. Wifi works and the coffee is legit. A reliable South Maui option when Da Green is packed or you just want a change of scene.
📶 Wifi
Hotspot recommended
Spoon & Key
📍 Wailea
Coffee and the space are both genuinely good — but the wifi is unreliable enough that you should plan on using your hotspot. Once you accept that, it’s a solid South Maui option: comfortable seating, great energy, and a vibe that makes the hours go easily.
Bring your hotspot. Don’t rely on the wifi.
North Shore (Pāʻia & Spreckelsville)
📶 Wifi
Pāʻia Bay Coffee & Bar
📍 120 Hana Hwy, Pāʻia
Spacious, airy, and one of the more comfortable setups on the island. Ample seating, breezy feel, solid wifi. Good coffee too. One of the better calls in Pāʻia if you need to actually get work done.
📶 Wifi
Belles Surf Club
📍 Pāʻia
A newer spot that Pāʻia needed. Good wifi, good coffee, a well-designed space — the kind that feels intentional rather than accidental. Works well for a focused morning.
Central Maui (Kahului & Wailuku)
📶 Wifi
Maui Coffee Roasters
📍 444 Hāna Hwy, Kahului
A Maui institution that earns its reputation. Roasts on-site, the wifi works, there’s actual seating, and the energy is welcoming without being precious. Also the spot with that small fridge of beautiful lei near the entrance if you need one while you’re there. Good all-day option in Central.
📶 Wifi
Quiet
Maui Coffee Attic
📍 59 Kanoa St, Wailuku
Highly rated and notably quiet — which is rare. If you need to actually concentrate, the Coffee Attic is one of the better calls in Central Maui. Reviewers consistently call out the fast wifi and the calm atmosphere. Feels like a place that takes working seriously.
📶 Wifi
Story Coffee
📍 Pāʻia
Warm, spacious, and deeply community-oriented — Story has that feeling of a place that actually knows its regulars. Good wifi, great coffee. Check their hours before you go, as they keep shorter days than you might expect.
📶 Wifi
1-hr wifi limit
Momona Coffee
📍 Kahului
Good coffee and the vibe is right, but know going in: wifi access is capped at one hour. Great for a short sprint, not a full work day. Plan accordingly or bring your hotspot.
Upcountry (Makawao & Kula)
📶 Wifi
Spoon & Key
📍 Makawao
The coffee and the space are both genuinely good — but the wifi is unreliable enough that you should plan on using your hotspot. Once you accept that, it’s one of the best working environments Upcountry: comfortable seating, great energy, and the kind of place you can spend a whole morning without noticing the time.
Bring your hotspot. Don’t rely on the wifi.
📶 Wifi
VIDA Coffee
📍 Makawao
Mostly outdoor seating, limited but cute — and genuinely peaceful in that Upcountry way. The setting alone makes it worth a morning. Solid wifi and good coffee.
📶 Wifi
Espresso Mafia
📍 Makawao
The name delivers. Strong coffee, fast wifi, no-nonsense setup. A reliable Upcountry option when you need to get your head down.
📶 Wifi
Marlow
📍 Kula, Upcountry
Maui’s beloved Italian restaurant does coffee in the mornings, and it’s worth planning your work day around. Olive oil lattes, ample seating, a beautiful Upcountry setting. The wifi holds up and the atmosphere is genuinely lovely — calm, warm, and unhurried.
West Maui
Honestly? We’re still looking.
West Maui is the hardest part of the island for this. Most spots in Kaʻanapali and Lahaina are built for tourists grabbing a coffee, not for anyone who needs to sit down and actually work. If you have a gem on this side, tell us — we want to know.
The Golden Rule
Buy something every couple of hours. These are small businesses and your laptop is taking up a seat. Tip well. And if you find a spot that’s not on this list and it’s actually good — send it our way.
