Maui Halloween Guide · 2026
Where to Celebrate Halloween on Maui This Year
Maui does Halloween differently — kids in costume collecting candy from nonprofits at the MACC, outdoor movies after dark, underground haunted houses at the Hyatt, and nights that don’t end until 1:30am in Lahaina. Here’s where to actually be.
Halloween on Maui starts before October 31st and doesn’t really stop until you make it. Whether you’re doing the full family circuit with keiki or looking for a proper costume party situation, there are real, specific things happening on this island — and we’ve done the work to find the ones actually worth your time.
Thursday, October 29
16th Annual Haunted House at Hyatt Regency Maui
Every year the Hyatt turns its underground basement into a full haunted house, and every year it delivers. The entrance is off the resort’s front drive — $10 per person, cash only at the door — and 100% of proceeds go to the Maui Charity Walk. Costumes encouraged. Open to all ages, though younger keiki might want a heads-up — it’s a real haunted house.
Confirm exact 2026 dates and times directly with the Hyatt Regency Maui before you go — details above are based on prior years.
Friday, October 30
Imua Keiki Halloween Festival
This is the one. A free community evening at the MACC with dozens of trick-or-treat stations run by Maui nonprofits and local businesses, critter petting encounters, creative activities, live music, and a free outdoor screening of Monsters, Inc. after sunset. Come in costume, come hungry — local food trucks are set up from 5pm. Bring a blanket for the film.
Bring: Blanket or low-back chair, and a non-perishable food item for Maui Food Bank. No outside food, drinks, or coolers.

Twin Fin Halloween at Pāʻia Bay Coffee & Bar
The 5th annual. Live music from Twin Fin, full Halloween energy, 21+ only. Pāʻia on a Halloween night is already a vibe — the town goes all out with trick-or-treating at shops along the strip — and this is the place to anchor your evening. Grab a presale ticket to save $10.
Saturday, October 31 — Halloween
Lahaina Cannery Halloween Spooktacular
One of the most complete family Halloween events on Maui and it’s completely free. Trick-or-treating at participating stores runs until 9pm, face painting and balloon twisting from 4–7pm, and photos with Spiderman from 4–6pm. Costume contest at 5pm with categories for Keiki 0–2, 3–5, 6–10, and ʻOhana & Adults. Then live music and a DJ take over from 7–10:30pm.
Food: Lahaina Cannery Dining Lot, Kaleiʻs, Fork and Salad.
Hana Kokua Spooktacular at Honokowai Beach Park
A genuinely special community event. Free trick-or-treat stations, a kendama competition, a community art project, and costume contests from the afternoon — then after dark an outdoor double feature of The Goonies and Coco. Bring blankets. This one has real heart.
ʻOhanaween at Whalers Village
Trick-or-treating, bounce houses, face painting, a costume contest at 5pm, and a costume parade at 5:30pm. Easy, free, right on the beach. Great option if you’re staying in Kaʻanapali or want a pretty setting for the costume parade moment.
Coco Deck Halloween Tailgate
An all-day anchor spot if you’re spending Halloween in Lahaina. Football, cornhole, wing specials, and monster mascots. Keiki costume contest registration runs 2:30–3:30pm for ages 12 and under — winner announced at 4pm with Trampoline Park passes as the prize.
Trunk or Treat at Azeka Plaza
South Maui’s trunk-or-treat. Decorated cars, costumes, and candy — great for the Kihei crowd who wants to stay local. Easy, low-key, the way this event is supposed to feel.
Halloween in the Gardens
Hosted with the Maui Humane Society, this one brings the annual Halloween Pet Parade and Keiki Costume Contest to South Maui Gardens. Costumes on the kids and the animals. It is as cute as it sounds. If you have a dog on this island, this is your moment.

HoloHolo Halloween at Queen Kaʻahumanu Center
Free trick-or-treating for kids 12 and under through the mall, until 7pm. Central location, easy stop before the evening gets going.
Día de los Muertos: A Night to Celebrate Life at Māla Ocean Tavern
The late-night option in Lahaina, and one with real intention behind it. DJ Skinnie (DJ Flaco) on the decks, food served until midnight, and a Día de los Muertos theme that feels particularly right for Lahaina right now — a night that honors those we’ve lost, on the waterfront, in a town that’s still rebuilding. $18 presale tickets or $25 at the door.

Also Worth Knowing: Pāʻia Town
Pāʻia Town Trick-or-Treating
Pāʻia goes all out for Halloween. Shops along the strip do their own trick-or-treating and the whole town gets into costume. If you’re not doing the Twin Fin show or want a breather between events, just walking Pāʻia on Halloween night is an experience in itself.
Happy Halloween from Maui
Whatever you do, do it in costume. This island puts its whole heart into celebrating — and Halloween is no different. Get out there.
