Because when a Maui enthusiast makes the list, we let her break the rules.

We usually keep it to seven. Clean. Curated. Chic.

But if you know Kymberly Marr, you know she does not do small. Not in color. Not in vision. Not in love for this island.

Kymberly is the founder of Maui Cosmetics and the artist behind some of the most radiant faces on island. A professional makeup artist with decades of experience, she has painted brides at sunrise, models in salt wind, performers under stage lights, and everyday women who just wanted to feel like themselves again. Her line is vegan, clean, Maui-proof and inspired by the colors that live here. Think Haleakalā at golden hour. Think mystical owl feathers. Think liquid sunshine on collarbones.

She’s warm and slightly rebellious with tender heart of gold wrapped in gentle shimmer.

If you haven’t read our feature on her journey yet, do that next. It will give you the full scope of how she built her beauty empire from grit, bravery and persistence. But today we are here for something equally sacred.

Her Maui favorites.

Because when someone loves this island the way she does, you listen.

Here are Kymberly Marr’s 13 favorite things on Maui:

1. Dinner parties with close friends.

2. Lazy beach days (South Side usually).

3. Self-healing days (especially massages)

4. Barre, Bungee & Shakti Rise at Waikapu Danceworks Studio.

5. Farmer’s Markets for organic vegetables and handmade artisanal goodies.

6. I’ao Valley.

7. Having pop-ups around the island. Meeting clients in person. Helping each individual find their effortless-makeup makeup.

8. Opening accounts and building relationships with Hawai’i’s luxury spas.

9. Networking & supporting local entrepreneurs.

10. Pampering Maui brides for their special day. Being their best friend on Maui they didn’t know they had.

11. Doing makeup for celebrities on Maui (you never know who’s going to walk through that door!)!

12. Volunteering/Community Service: Makeup for Lahaina Survivors, Women Helping Women, Wounded Warrior Project. Face Painting: Rev. Laki’s “Church on the Go” focusing on local, homeless, community, Celebrating and Providing the keikis with a special Christmas experience (volunteers welcome!)!
