As a South Maui local, I’d been eyeing Olakino Wellness at Wailea Beach Resort – Marriott, Maui for months.
A crystal-clear infinity pool overlooking the Wailea coastline. Luxe poolside furniture. Live music drifting through the palms. It kept calling me. And the constant nagging voice in my head saying, “you should really rest” loved the idea of doing it so bougie.
So I finally went.
A friend and I booked a day pass to the Olakino Pool, and from the moment we arrived, it was clear this wasn’t just a pool day. It was an experience.

Upon arrival, we were greeted with hors d’oeuvres, a wellness shot, and a cute, curated gift bag filled with goodies from local businesses. That alone set the tone: thoughtful, elevated, and very Maui.
With an infinity pool that feels like it spills straight into the ocean, a jacuzzi tucked just right and in-pool lounge chairs that make you forget time exists, the space is stunning. Picture all that with music playing softly in the background that’s chill enough to relax, but present enough to feel special.
The staff deserves a moment here too. Every single person we interacted with was warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. Peak hospitality. I wanted to hang out with all of them, but they held that perfect balance between being welcoming and connected, while also giving you full time and space to unplug.
Built-In Care, No Extra Planning Required
One of my favorite surprises was the included poolside neck and shoulder massage. It was such a blissful moment where I fully dropped into my body.
Some days, Olakino also offers sound healing sessions, which is already on my “next time” list.
There’s a full menu available throughout the day. I ordered the beet salad, which was fresh and nourishing, plus an iced tea, which felt perfectly aligned with the wellness poolside vibe.
A Place to Be, Not Just Do
I brought my laptop and got a little work done. Then I read. Then I chatted. I stared at the ocean. I talked story with the staff. I listened to the music. I enjoyed every little detail in that gift bag.
It was peaceful in the truest sense. I arrived around 10 am and stayed until closing at 4 pm. I could have stayed forever.
